b> Solar Energy Basics

The first question that arises is what is Solar Energy? Life as it exists on earth is dependent on energy to sustain itself.

The sun is the only inexhaustible, renewable source of energy known; the only continuous source of energy available is Solar. The production of oxygen and food would be impossible without Solar Energy.

What is Solar Energy?

Solar Energy is the energy provided by the sun in the form of sunlight to the earth. The sun is a powerful energy source. It is primarily made up of hydrogen gas, and it converts the hydrogen gas into helium. As a result of this conversion process, nuclear energy is released into space. This energy travels through space in the form of waves.

Solar Energy consists of two types of energy. First it provides us with light energy or light as we know it, and Second it provides us with energy in the form of heat. Solar Energy is also responsible for weather systems and ocean currents.

Can Solar Energy be Stored?

Solar Energy can be collected in solar panels and stored in batteries. A solar cell can convert sunlight, or Solar Energy, into electric pulses which can then be stored in the batteries. This electricity can in turn be used to run a number of applications.
